Customs Clearance involves the “clearing” of goods through customs barriers for importers and exporters (usually businesses). This involves the preparation of document and/or electronic submissions, the calculation and payment of taxes, duties and excises, and facilitating communication between government authorities and importers and exporters. It includes customs declaration, inspection, taxation, release and other formalities. All this before the goods can be released, to the owner or the applicant takes delivery.
We are also required to declare to the customs, follow customs formalities and get customs permission. During the period when the goods are in Custom’s clearance whether import, export or transit, when under Customs supervision no one is allowed to circulate freely.
